- Nobu Hotel Marbella opened in 2018 inside Puente Romano on the Golden Mile, wrapped around La Plaza, the resort's restaurant square
- Room counts vary by source, from 49 in the Michelin Guide to about 100 elsewhere; rooms run from a 30 m² Plaza-facing Deluxe Room to the 105 m² Nobu Suite
- It is adult-focused rather than adults-only: the Nobu Pool is for adult hotel guests only, but children may stay
- Guests share Puente Romano's Six Senses Spa, gym, tennis club and beach; La Plaza's bar runs to 03:00, so light sleepers should face the gardens
- Prices found on KAYAK averaged £1,302 a night in July and £308 in January, about a fifth below the main resort
Stand on La Plaza at midnight in August and look up: many of the terraces on the white houses around you belong to Nobu Hotel Marbella, a hotel within a hotel whose guests are a minute from dinner and a minute from bed. That proximity is the whole proposition, and it is why couples choose it over the main resort. Nobu Hotel Marbella is a small, adult-focused hotel that opened in 2018 inside Puente Romano, with its own adults-only pool and bar; children may stay, it shares the resort's spa, tennis club and beach, and it averages about a fifth less than the main resort.
We send companions in Marbella to its rooms regularly, and our guide to Marbella escorts covers how bookings work across the coast.
What Is Nobu Hotel Marbella?
Nobu Hotel Marbella is a small hotel inside the Puente Romano resort on the Golden Mile, opened in 2018 under the brand of chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper. Room counts vary by source, from 49 to about 100. It wraps around La Plaza, with its own bar, its own pool and the Nobu restaurant.
Opened in 2018, Inside a 1979 Resort
Nobu Hotels opened in London's Shoreditch and in Ibiza in 2017, and CNN reported in September 2018 that a Marbella hotel had followed that year; the group then counted 39 restaurants and eight hotels. It occupies whitewashed houses around La Plaza, in the same village style as the rest of Puente Romano. Its launch website promised a hotel designed exclusively for grown-ups, with priority at La Suite, the resort club that no longer appears on the resort's venue list. You will see 2019 quoted elsewhere; the hotel was already taking bookings in the spring of 2018.
What the Nobu Name Brings
The brand belongs to Nobu Hospitality, founded by Matsuhisa, De Niro and Teper, while the hotel is run as part of the Puente Romano resort, which lists it among its own accommodation. In the room the name means a Nobu signature bed, yukata robes and Japanese slippers, Eight & Bob toiletries and 24-hour in-room dining from the Nobu kitchen. Downstairs it means the restaurant, where Eleni Manousou, the group's first female executive chef, runs the kitchen. This guide is about the hotel; the food has its own review.
Arriving and Checking In
The address is Puente Romano's, on the Bulevar Príncipe Alfonso von Hohenlohe, about 45 minutes from Málaga airport by road. Check-in starts at 14:00, contactless check-in and check-out are available, and the hotel describes check-out as flexible, tailored to your schedule, so ask for a late one when you book. The rooms are reached on foot through the resort's lanes and cobbled squares, so let the staff take the luggage rather than wheeling it across the stones in August heat.
Is Nobu Hotel Marbella Adults-Only?
Not strictly. The pool is adults-only and the hotel is designed and sold for grown-ups, but the Michelin Guide notes there is no age restriction, and the hotel sells a family package with connecting rooms and access to Puente Romano's kids' club. Expect very few children, not none.
What the Rules Actually Say
The hotel publishes no minimum age. The Michelin Guide puts it plainly: no age restriction, but recommended for adults. The Nobu Pool is the firm line, adults-only and for hotel guests only. Mr & Mrs Smith adds that children are welcome in every room category but may not use the pool or stay on La Plaza after midnight. And the hotel itself sells a Nobu Family package, with a connecting second room and a welcome pack from La Casita, Puente Romano's kids' club.
Why It Still Feels Like an Adults' Hotel
Because everything about it points that way. The rooms face the square, the gardens or the pool; the pool plays DJ sets from noon; Nobu Bar opens at 19:00 and La Plaza runs until 03:00. Families staying in the resort have the main pools and La Casita Kids Club, and that is where they spend their days. If a strictly child-free stay matters to you, ask for the policy in writing before you book rather than relying on the reputation.
Rooms and Suites: Plaza Side or Garden Side?
Rooms run from the 30 to 35 m² Deluxe Room Plaza to the 105 m² Nobu Suite, plus a 250 m² four-bedroom suite. Plaza rooms put you above Puente Romano's nightlife; the Deluxe Rooms face the pool, and Junior Suites face either the square or the gardens. Light sleepers should ask for the garden side.
The Categories, With Sizes
The Deluxe Room Plaza (30 to 35 m²) and the Deluxe Room (35 to 40 m², facing the pool) are open-plan, with a terrace and a rainfall shower. The Junior Suite (50 to 55 m²) adds a sitting area; the Studio Suites Plaza (60 to 65 m²) and Deluxe Suites Plaza (70 to 75 m²) add a soaking bathtub. The 105 m² Nobu Suite is the one to want: a terrace Jacuzzi, private access to the Nobu Pool, views of La Concha and artwork commissioned from Andrew Martin. The 250 m² Four Bedroom Suite sleeps eight. The look throughout is cream, pale wood and very little clutter.
The Plaza Question
La Plaza's bar runs from 18:00 to 03:00, and COYA Club, a few steps away, until 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday. The hotel says its Plaza terraces give an intimate glimpse of the nightlife below, which is accurate. Mr & Mrs Smith's advice is to ask for a room over the gardens if you sleep lightly, and ours is the same, with one addition: put it in writing when you book, name the category and ask about the floor. On a Tuesday in March the Plaza side is charming; on a Saturday in August it is part of the party.
The Nobu Pool, Nobu Bar and the Restaurant
The Nobu Pool belongs to the hotel: adults-only, for its own guests, raised above the resort with views of La Concha, open from 11:00 to 18:00 with DJs from noon and heated in the cooler months. Nobu Bar opens at 19:00, and the restaurant downstairs needs no introduction.
A Day at the Nobu Pool
Loungers and oversized daybeds face the mountain, with a covered pergola by the pool bar for shade. Drinks reach you in the water on floating trays and lunch comes to the lounger: shrimp and melon ceviche, a Chilean wagyu katsu sando, lobster with nashi pear. Because only hotel guests get in, it has none of the day-club crowd of COYA Pool or the beach clubs. In August, claim a daybed before the DJ starts at noon.
Nobu Bar, and the Restaurant Downstairs
Nobu Bar is designed around the sakura blossom and pours a Japanese botanical cocktail list made with Suntory's Roku gin. It opens at 19:00 and closes at 01:00 from Sunday to Thursday and 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, with last reservations at 23:00. Most guests use it for the first drink before dinner. For the food, the sharing-plate arithmetic and which seating to book, read our Nobu Marbella review; here it is enough to say that hotel guests never need a taxi home.
What Can Nobu Hotel Guests Use at Puente Romano?
Almost everything. Nobu Hotel guests share Puente Romano's Six Senses Spa, gym, tennis and padel club and beach, and La Plaza's restaurants are on the doorstep. The one facility that runs the other way is the Nobu Pool, which Puente Romano's own guests cannot use.
Spa, Gym and Tennis
The Six Senses Spa charges Nobu guests the hotel-guest rate of €75 for an hour in the wet zone, against €90 for outsiders, and opens from 09:30 to 20:00. The gym has Technogym equipment and a studio for spin, barre and boxing classes. The tennis club, which Björn Borg opened in 1979, has eight clay courts plus padel, and runs competitive adult sessions on weekday afternoons from 14:00 to 15:30. All three are covered in our Puente Romano guide.
Beach, Pools and the Rest of the Resort
The beach is a few minutes' walk through the gardens, where the Chiringuito, Sea Grill and La Petite Maison sit on the sand. Families, and anyone who wants a quieter swim, can use Puente Romano's main pools, and children have La Casita Kids Club. Golf is at the Marbella Club Golf Resort in Benahavís, where Puente Romano guests get special offers; it is covered in our Marbella Club review. In practice a Nobu stay is a Puente Romano stay with a smaller room, a livelier pool and a shorter walk to dinner.
Nobu Hotel or Puente Romano's Main Resort: Which Should You Book?
Book Nobu Hotel for a couple's trip built around evenings: smaller, adult-focused rooms on La Plaza, a guests-only pool and prices averaging about a fifth below the main resort. Book the main resort for space, families and quiet: its suites start at 55 m² and its garden houses run down to the beach.
Side by Side
Room counts are the Michelin Guide's; averages are prices found by KAYAK users over the last 12 months.

Prices and the Best Months
KAYAK's averages for Nobu Hotel run £1,302 a night in July, £1,193 in August, £843 in June, £698 in September and £590 in October, falling to £308 in January. For the 60 days from early October, Mr & Mrs Smith's cheapest double was €385 with buffet breakfast. Demand explains the spread: Spain's statistics office, INE, put Marbella's hotel room occupancy at 84.6% in August 2026 and 37.8% in January. The best months are June and September: warm sea, full restaurants and rates well short of the July peak. Winter is cheap and the pool is heated, but the DJ-and-daybed scene is a summer thing, so book winter for the spa and the food.
Nobu Hotel With a Companion: Couples, Visitors and Discretion
Its adult focus makes Nobu Hotel a natural base for a couple, or a single client, who wants grown-up surroundings. A visitor is unremarkable in a hotel wrapped around a public square, and La Plaza's tables mean a dinner date can begin and end within a few steps of the room.
Couples and Grown-Up Evenings
Couples who book a companion together usually want an adult setting, and the Nobu Pool and Plaza rooms provide one; a Nobu Suite adds its own terrace Jacuzzi and private access to the pool for the hours that stay in. Our couples bookings page explains how those evenings are arranged. For a client who wants a companion at ease at a Nobu table and later at COYA Club, our VIP companions are the usual match, and a dinner date, a minimum of three hours, starts at €900.
Visiting a Guest at Nobu Hotel
Send us the room number and category, so we know whether she is heading for the Plaza side or the gardens, and tell reception you are expecting a guest. Golden Mile outcalls are €300 an hour, the same as anywhere in Marbella; an overnight of 10 to 12 hours runs €3,000 to €4,000, depending on the companion and the length, and for that she should be added to your booking as a second guest, since Spanish hotels register every overnight guest over 14. Our Golden Mile escorts page shows who is available on the strip, and our hotel list compares arrivals elsewhere.
Timing a Nobu Evening
A Nobu evening has a natural rhythm: a drink at Nobu Bar from 20:30, dinner at 21:30, then La Plaza until 03:00 or COYA Club until 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday. Tell us the table time and we will time her arrival to the bar rather than the room. Dress for the square, smart rather than formal. Our price does not change on Fridays, Saturdays or in July and August, though the table and the companions fill up faster. You pay her directly before the booking starts, by cash, bank transfer (to her or to the agency) or crypto, and a booking made in advance carries a 25% deposit by transfer or crypto, with the balance paid to her at the start. Her taxi to the hotel is paid by the client.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Nobu Hotel Marbella adults-only?
Not strictly. The hotel publishes no minimum age, and the Michelin Guide notes there is no age restriction, though it recommends the hotel for adults. The Nobu Pool is the firm line: adults only and for hotel guests only. Children can stay, and the hotel even sells a family package.
When did Nobu Hotel Marbella open?
In 2018. CNN reported that September that the Marbella hotel had opened that year, after Nobu Hotels in London's Shoreditch and in Ibiza in 2017. Some sources give 2019, but the hotel's website was already taking bookings in the spring of 2018.
How many rooms does Nobu Hotel Marbella have?
Sources disagree: the Michelin Guide lists 49, while other current listings give 80 to about 100. Categories run from the 30 to 35 square metre Deluxe Room Plaza to the 105 square metre Nobu Suite, with a 250 square metre Four Bedroom Suite at the top. Either way, it is a small hotel.
Can Nobu Hotel guests use the Puente Romano facilities?
Yes. They share the Six Senses Spa at the hotel-guest rate, the gym, the tennis and padel club, the beach and the main pools, and La Plaza's restaurants are a few steps away. The traffic runs one way for the Nobu Pool, which is reserved for Nobu Hotel's own adult guests.
Which rooms at Nobu Hotel Marbella are quietest?
Those facing the gardens or the pool rather than La Plaza. The square's bar runs until 03:00 and COYA Club until 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday. Ask for a garden-side Junior Suite or a Deluxe Room overlooking the pool, and get the request confirmed in writing when you book.
