Nueva Andalucía Villa Stays: Our Guide to Marbella's Golf Valley

Most visitors first see Nueva Andalucía from a taxi: the roundabout by the old bullring, then a road climbing between fairways and hedges. Many of the villas rented on this part of the coast stand in this valley, so many evenings with our Marbella escorts start here, and the questions are always the same: how far is everything, where do we eat, how does she get through the gate. Nueva Andalucía is the Marbella district directly behind Puerto Banús: Centro Plaza and the former bullring sit at the bottom, a 19-minute walk from the port, and the Golf Valley above holds Las Brisas, Los Naranjos and Aloha, with many rental villas inside gated urbanisations.

Where Is Nueva Andalucía, and How Is the Valley Laid Out?

Nueva Andalucía is a district of Marbella on the inland side of the A-7, directly behind Puerto Banús. Its lower end, around Centro Plaza and the former bullring, is flat, built up and walkable to the port. North of it the ground rises into the Golf Valley, where villas and gated urbanisations surround three golf courses.

The Lower Valley: Centro Plaza to the Port on Foot

The bottom of the district is the only part where a car is optional. From Centro Plaza to the quay at Puerto Banús is 1.4 km down Avenida de Manolete and across the main road, about 19 minutes on the walking route we checked. That is the case for staying low: dinner in the port, a walk home, no taxi queue. The price is noise. Bars around the plaza keep late hours, concert nights at the old bullring fill the surrounding streets, and the A-7 never goes quiet. Most accommodation here is apartments, with Hard Rock Hotel Marbella and Casino Marbella about 500 metres south of the plaza. The street names date the place: Avenida de Manolete and Calle Luis Mazzantini honour two bullfighters, and the marina below was opened in May 1970 by the developer José Banús.

The Golf Valley: Villas, Barriers and No Pavement Worth Using

Above the plaza the valley widens. The Aloha course is about 4.2 km by road from the marina and Los Naranjos about 4.6 km, around ten minutes by taxi without traffic, and most villas between them sit inside urbanisations, such as Aloha Pueblo off Avenida Valle del Golf, many with a barrier, a keypad or a guard. It is greener, quieter and much darker at night than the lower valley, and it is car country: nobody walks from Los Naranjos to the port in evening shoes. Las Brisas, Los Naranjos and Aloha: The Valley's Three Courses

Three courses give the valley its name. Las Brisas, a Robert Trent Jones Snr design updated by Kyle Phillips, and Aloha, a par-72 parkland course, both describe themselves as private members' clubs. Los Naranjos, another Robert Trent Jones Sr design, runs Hacienda Los Naranjos, a restaurant open from 8:00 to 23:30.

Two Private Clubs and a Clubhouse Open Late

Las Brisas sits lowest, off Calle Londres, and invites visitors to become members of what it calls the most exclusive golf club in Marbella. Aloha, on Avenida del Golf, is a traditional parkland layout of four par 5s, ten par 4s and four par 3s, and its website says plainly that it is members only. Los Naranjos, at Plaza de Cibeles near the top of the valley, keeps club office hours of 9:00 to 17:00, while Hacienda Los Naranjos serves from 8:00 until 23:30. For non-golfers, that terrace is the easiest way to see the courses.

What a Fairway Villa Means for Your Stay

A villa backing onto a fairway has no neighbour behind it and a view nobody can build on. It also has an audience in daylight, as golfers pass the garden wall from the first tee time, and sound carries across open grass at night in a way it does not between walled gardens. In late June the sun sets at about 21:40, so a terrace on the fairway side is still in full view when dinner starts. We check which way the terrace and bedrooms face before the evening, not after.

Centro Plaza, the Old Bullring and Casino Marbella

The lower valley is where the evenings happen. Centro Plaza is a pedestrian square of bars and restaurants beside the former Puerto Banús bullring, which now trades as Marbella Arena, a concert venue on Avenida Pilar Calvo. About 500 metres south, Casino Marbella occupies the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella building.

Marbella Arena: Concerts Inside the Bullring

The ring that marks the entrance to Nueva Andalucía is now Marbella Arena, and its 2026 programme ran from late May to early September: Kaiser Chiefs on 20 June, Craig David on 27 June, Faithless on 9 July and UB40 on 16 July, among others. For anyone staying in the lower valley that matters twice. A concert is an easy evening out, walkable from Centro Plaza; and on show nights the streets around the arena fill from early evening and empty all at once at the end. When a booking falls on a concert night, we add twenty minutes to the arrival and set the meeting point away from the arena gates.

Casino Marbella and the Hard Rock Hotel

Casino Marbella sits in the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella building, the former H10 Andalucía Plaza, whose address is simply Urbanización Nueva Andalucía. The slot hall opens from 11:00 to 04:00 and the gaming room, with blackjack, American roulette and poker, from 20:00 to 04:00; under-18s are not admitted, so carry ID. Its restaurant runs a seasonal menu by the chef Agustín Román. An hour at the tables after dinner is one of the easier date formats in the valley, lively without being loud and ten minutes by taxi from most villas.

Where Should You Eat When Staying in Nueva Andalucía?

Eat in the valley on quiet nights and go down the hill for occasions. Aloha Grill on Avenida del Prado, Hacienda Los Naranjos at the golf club and La Mesâ at Naô Pool Club cover most evenings. None of Marbella's Michelin-starred restaurants is in the valley, so a starred dinner means a taxi.

Three Tables in the Valley

Aloha Grill, on Avenida del Prado since 2002, is a grill in a tropical garden: premium meat and the day's fish, with rack of lamb at €35 and tournedos Rossini at €45 on its current menu. It opens Monday to Saturday from 18:30 to midnight and closes on Sundays. Hacienda Los Naranjos, at the golf club, is the long-lunch option. Naô Pool Club on Calle Los Tilos is the loud one: DJs by the pool, then La Mesâ, its dining room, with sushi by Takumi. For a first evening with a companion we usually suggest Aloha Grill, quiet enough to talk and close to most villas.

Starred Dinners Down the Hill

In the 2026 Michelin Guide, Skina, at Cánovas del Castillo 9, holds two stars, and BACK on Calle Pablo Casals, Nintai on Calle Ramón Gómez de la Serna and Messina on Avenida Severo Ochoa hold one each. All four are in Marbella proper, ten to fifteen minutes by taxi from Centro Plaza. Book one as a dinner date of three hours or more, with the car back arranged before you sit down, and the night ends at the villa without anyone watching a taxi app. Our restaurant guide covers the tables below that level.

Distances, Taxi Fares and the Airport Run

Everything in the valley is close by road and far on foot. Centro Plaza is 1.4 km from the Puerto Banús quay, Los Naranjos 4.6 km from the marina, and the old town 8 to 11 km away. On Marbella's 2026 taxi tariff the longest of those rides costs about €16 by day and €21 at night.

Distances and Meter Fares From the Valley

Fares are our own calculation from Marbella's 2026 tariff, €3.79 plus €1.12 a kilometre by day and €4.64 plus €1.41 at night and at weekends, before waiting time. Distances are by road unless marked.

La Cañada, Marbella's big retail park, is not in the valley: it sits on the north-east side of town, 11 km from Centro Plaza.

Getting Back After Midnight, and to the Airport

The Puerto Banús rank is easy at 01:00; a villa at the top of the valley at 03:00 is not, so we book the return when the evening is planned and give the driver the urbanisation name and the pin. The airport is 63 km away, about 55 minutes in free-flowing traffic. Renting a Villa in the Valley: What We Check First

Before a client pays for a villa here, we suggest checking three things: the tourist-rental registration code in the advert, how the urbanisation handles visitors at the barrier, and which way the bedrooms and terraces face. Choice is not the problem: INE counted 6,987 tourist dwellings in Marbella in May 2026.

Registration Codes and What the Numbers Say

Andalucía's tourist-rental decree requires a villa's code in the Registro de Turismo de Andalucía to appear in every advert, so a listing without one is the first thing to question. A registered villa also hands you a contract naming the operator, the number of guests, the dates and the total price. The market is large and shrinking slightly: the INE count for Marbella was 6,987 tourist dwellings with 36,435 beds in May 2026, an average of 5.21 beds each, against 7,934 dwellings a year earlier.

The Barrier, the Pin and the Name at the Gate

Many valley villas sit behind an urbanisation barrier, and that is where arrivals go wrong. Before a visit we ask for four things: the urbanisation's name, a dropped map pin on the house itself, the gate routine (code, intercom or guard) and the name the guard expects. An address inside an urbanisation is often a plot or house number a satnav cannot place, and at 23:00 in an unlit lane a pin saves twenty minutes. Nueva Andalucía, Benahavís or San Pedro?

Benahavís village is 13.7 km from Centro Plaza, about 17 minutes, with bigger plots and more privacy, but it is a separate municipality, so visits from our Benahavís escorts carry the two-hour minimum that applies outside Marbella. San Pedro Alcántara, west along the coast, is still Marbella and has a proper town centre. The valley's advantage is the port: from most of it, Puerto Banús is a walk or a taxi ride of about €9.

How Companion Visits to a Nueva Andalucía Villa Work

The valley is inside Marbella, so a visit is the standard €300 an hour and the client pays her taxi. Send the urbanisation, a pin, the gate routine and the shape of the evening, and we confirm the companion; she usually arrives 25 to 30 minutes after confirmation and tells us when she has.

Rates and Formats for a Villa Evening

Dinner in the port or at Aloha Grill followed by the villa is our dinner-date format: a minimum of three hours, so from €900. An overnight of ten to twelve hours costs €3,000–€4,000, depending on the companion and the length, and suits the valley best, because the morning by the pool is half the point of renting the house. The price is the same on a weekend, in August or on New Year's Eve; what changes is how quickly the companions are taken. Villa Staff, Duos and Longer Stays

Many valley rentals come with a housekeeper or a chef. Tell us when staff will be in the house: our companions handle it easily, but it should be known rather than discovered at the kitchen door. Villas suit duo bookings far better than hotel rooms, simply because of the space, and a private chef evening keeps the whole night inside the gate. For two nights or more we quote the stay as one booking rather than nights multiplied.
