Once you understand what you are actually paying for, the decision becomes straightforward arithmetic rather than a guess, and the bill at the end stops being a surprise. This is the whole system, set out plainly. A Marbella club table is guaranteed entry and reserved space priced as bottles at three to five times retail, with minimums starting around €600–€1,000 on a summer Saturday — and it breaks even against bar prices at roughly four to six people. Why It Is Structured This Way

Charging an access fee is unattractive and hard to price; selling drinks at a markup achieves the same revenue while feeling like hospitality. Every club market in the world converged on this, and Marbella is no exception. Understanding it means you stop comparing bottle prices to shop prices — the markup is the point, not an outrage.

Minimums scale by position and by night. On a summer Saturday, an edge table starts around €600–€1,000, mid-room €1,000–€2,000, and dancefloor-adjacent €2,000 upward. Midweek is roughly half. Position is the whole variable.

What the Bottles Cost

Standard spirits from around €200–€300, champagne from around €250 and rising steeply for the marketing-heavy labels. Against retail that is three to five times, and against a bar measure it is broadly comparable per drink — a €250 bottle is roughly twenty measures at €12.50, which is not far off bar pricing. That comparison is the useful one.

When It Is Worth It

At four to six people the per-head cost approaches what you would spend at the bar anyway, and above that a table is straightforwardly better value. For two people it almost never makes sense. Run the arithmetic before booking.

The Break-Even

A €1,200 minimum split six ways is €200 each. Six people at a bar across four hours, at €20 a drink, is not far off that — and the table adds guaranteed entry, somewhere to sit and no queuing. Split two ways the same table is €600 each against maybe €150 at the bar, which is not a defensible trade.

Table Etiquette

Deal with your host rather than flagging down passing staff, tip around 10% at the end, and check the itemised bill before paying. The conventions are simple and the venues are professional. Three worth knowing.

Your Host

One person looks after your table all night — drinks, ice, and getting your group through the door. Deal with them exclusively; it is faster and it is how the system is designed. A good host makes the night considerably smoother, and they are the person to ask if you want to add to the order or move something.

Tipping

Around 10% to the host at the end is customary on bottle service. This is a genuine exception to Spanish practice — Spain does not tip by percentage in restaurants and a gratuity on an escort booking is never expected, but table service in clubs follows the international convention. Budget for it.

Checking the Bill

Ask for it itemised and check the bottle count against what actually arrived. Bills at these venues are large and occasionally wrong, and querying politely, away from the table, before paying is entirely normal. What causes problems is disputing it afterwards.

How Do You Get Value?

Go midweek, take a mid-room rather than dancefloor table, and order spirits rather than champagne if the minimum is the constraint. Each of those halves the cost without changing the night much. Three levers.

Midweek Halves It

Same room, same music, roughly half the minimum, and a door that is not a problem. Thursday in July in Puerto Banús is a genuinely good night that almost nobody plans for. It is the same argument our weekday post makes about the rest of the evening.

Position

A dancefloor-adjacent table costs a multiple of a mid-room one and delivers a marginally better view of the same room. Unless being visible is the point — and for some people it genuinely is — the mid-room table is the rational choice and the money is better spent elsewhere in the evening.

What to Order

Spirits meet a minimum for less than champagne does. If the objective is to satisfy the minimum and drink well, vodka and mixers is the efficient route. If the objective is the theatre of a champagne presentation, that is a legitimate thing to buy — just know which one you are doing.

The Alternatives

For two people, the bar. For a group wanting somewhere to sit, a private karaoke room or a rooftop costs a fraction. For a group wanting a whole evening, a villa with a chef costs less than a table and delivers more. Three genuinely better options in some cases.

For Two People

A rooftop at eleven, the club bar at one, and somewhere late afterwards. It costs a tenth of a table and is a better night — a couple does not need reserved space and clears every door in the port without one.

For a Group Wanting to Sit

A private karaoke room for two hours costs a few hundred for the whole group against a €1,200 club minimum, and is considerably more fun. It also works as the pre-club hour, so you can do both and still spend less.
