Key Takeaways:
  • Four galas anchor the summer: Rotary in June or July, Global Gift in late July, the AECC cancer dinner on the first Saturday of August, then Starlite
  • Seats run from €150–€165 at the Rotary gala to €1,000 or more at Starlite and Global Gift
  • The AECC dinner at Finca La Concepción is the biggest room, with more than 600 guests in 2026
  • Black tie is the norm, though the AECC dinner has asked for black tie optional or cocktail chic
  • With a companion, settle the introduction, the photo wall and the story in advance, and plan an overnight

On the first Saturday of August, more than 600 people in evening dress sit down to dinner in the gardens of Finca La Concepción, on the road to Istán, and by two in the morning the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer has raised a six-figure sum. The following week the Starlite Gala does the same in a quarry above the Golden Mile, at €1,000 a cover. Marbella's charity galas run from mid-June to mid-August, and you attend by buying a seat or a table from the organiser, from about €150 at the Rotary gala to €1,000 or more at Starlite and Global Gift, then dressing to the code and budgeting for the auction.

Below: the galas that matter, how tables work, the dress codes, and what to plan if you attend with a companion from our agency. For the mechanics of the booking itself, start with how booking a Marbella escort works.

The Charity Galas in Marbella Worth Knowing

Four galas anchor the season: the Rotary Club Marbella's summer gala in June or July, the Global Gift Gala in late July, the AECC cancer dinner on the first Saturday of August and the Starlite Gala on a Sunday soon after. Individual places run from about €150 to €1,000 or more, and tables of ten from €5,000.

The Season in One Table

Prices are the latest the organisers published; confirm each year's date before you book flights, and see our events calendar for the other weekends that fill the coast.

Why Summer, and Why the Finca

The galas sit between mid-June and mid-August, when the coast's part-time residents are in town, and the big four rarely clash. Two share a venue: the gardens of Finca La Concepción, at kilometre 2.3 of the Istán road, host both the Rotary summer gala and the AECC dinner, open-air and warm. Guest lists overlap more than newcomers expect, which matters if you attend more than one.

The Starlite Gala: Marbella's Biggest Charity Night

The Starlite Gala is the Fundación Starlite's annual fundraising dinner, held since 2010 and now staged in the Nagüeles quarry above the Golden Mile, with Sandra García-Sanjuán and Antonio Banderas as hosts. It falls on a Sunday in early to mid August, asks a minimum of €1,000 a cover and ends with an auction. The concert season in the same quarry is a separate thing; our Starlite festival guide covers it.

Themes, Hosts and Beneficiaries

Recent editions have each had a theme. The sixteenth, in August 2025, was a Masquerade Night with masks, starting at 20:00. The seventeenth, on 9 August 2026, ran under the motto Peace & Love, with the dress code to match. In 2025 solidarity awards were presented on the night, and the proceeds went to Lágrimas y Favores and Niños en Alegría, and Wikipedia's Starlite entry lists Cudeca and Cáritas among past beneficiaries.

What the Auction Raises

The auction is where the real money moves. In 2026 the top lot, Keep Quiet, a painting by Raymond Stuwe in tribute to David Bowie, sold for €30,000, alongside a private visit to the Joan Miró Foundation, a trip to Capri and a flamenco guitar signed by Estrella Morente. Europa Press reported that the 2026 edition raised more than €140,000 for the foundation's education, health and inclusion projects. The 2025 catalogue mixed seven artworks with experiences such as a private visit to Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada's atelier and a masked ball in Venice.

The Global Gift Gala Marbella

The Global Gift Gala is the Global Gift Foundation's black-tie dinner, chaired by its founder María Bravo with Eva Longoria as honorary chair. The Marbella edition falls on a weekend in late July, with the red carpet at 20:00 and dinner and a live auction from 21:00. Proceeds support the foundation's projects, notably Casa Ángeles, a day centre in Marbella. It is the most international room of the four.

Seats, Tables and the Circuit Prices

In 2025 the foundation sold Silver seats at €550 and Gold seats at €1,100, or tables of ten at €5,000 and €10,000; Gold tables sit at the front, near the stage. For 2026 a Gold ticket was €1,000 and a Presidential ticket €5,000, for the tables where celebrities and award recipients are placed. The foundation's own listings for its other 2026 galas run from €1,000 to €5,000 in Paris, €1,500 to €5,000 in Monaco and €3,000 to €6,000 in London, so Marbella is one of the cheaper seats on the circuit.

From the Don Pepe to Lucía Marbella

The fourteenth Marbella edition, on Sunday 20 July 2025, brought more than 300 guests to the beachfront Gran Meliá Don Pepe, which closed for refurbishment in October 2025. The fifteenth, on Saturday 25 July 2026, moved for the first time to Lucía Marbella, the beach club of the Hotel Don Carlos at kilometre 192 of the coast road, towards Elviria in east Marbella. Malagaes, a local news site, announced its photo special before the night. Assume any gala of this size will be photographed in detail.

The AECC Cancer Gala and the Club Galas

The Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer's Marbella dinner is the largest by headcount, with more than 600 guests at Finca La Concepción for its 41st edition in 2026. Below it sit the Rotary and Lions galas: the Rotary Club Marbella's summer dinner at €150 to €165 a head, and club evenings of 100 to 150 guests. Smaller rooms, and easier to get into.

The Cena de Gala contra el Cáncer

Two weeks before the 2025 dinner, the AECC's Marbella branch had sold 25 corporate tables and more than 400 places and was aiming for 700 diners, according to Marbella council. In 2026 ticket sales alone reached €190,000, and the raffle offered more than 300 prizes from over 200 companies, as Urbanity reported. The money pays for free services for local patients: the branch saw 462 patients and 135 relatives in 2025, across 2,318 free sessions.

Rotary, Lions and the Smaller Rooms

The Rotary Club Marbella's summer gala ran on Friday 18 July 2025, black tie, at €150 early-bird or €165, for ADINTRE, a homeless charity; in 2026 it moved to Friday 19 June at €165. The Rotary Club Marbella Cosmopolitan's La Dolce Vita gala in 2026 brought 140 guests to Puente Romano's Salón Andalucía and netted €25,350 for four charities including Cudeca, the palliative-care foundation working since 1992. The Lions Club Marbella's 2025 Black & White Summer Night drew about 120 guests to the Golf & Country Club Marbella and gave Cudeca €10,000. These are friendlier rooms for a first gala.

How Do Gala Tickets, Tables and Auctions Work?

You buy a seat or a table from the organiser. Single seats put you at a mixed table, tables of ten go to companies and hosts who fill them with their own guests, and the auction, the raffle and donations raise money on top. Treat the ticket as the entry fee, not the contribution.

Seats, Tables of Ten and Fila Cero

A single seat is the simplest purchase but means dinner with strangers, seated by the organiser. A table of ten lets you host: at Global Gift in 2025 that meant €5,000 for Silver or €10,000 for Gold, and the AECC dinner sells a large share of its room as corporate tables. Companies that want their name on the night buy a sponsorship instead, and Spanish galas also run a fila cero, a donation from people who cannot attend. Book early for August; the AECC had sold 60 per cent of its places a fortnight out in 2025.

Auction and Raffle Etiquette

Set a ceiling before the first lot and stop when you reach it: a raised paddle is a promise to pay, and auctioneers at these dinners are good at finding the second bidder. Experiences such as hotel stays, private visits and trips make better gifts than most objects. Raffle tickets are the low-cost way to contribute. Never bid to impress the table, and never let a companion feel she is the reason for a bid.

What an Evening Actually Costs

Two seats at the Rotary gala cost €330. Two Gold seats at Global Gift cost €2,000 to €2,200, and two covers at Starlite start at €2,000. Add a car both ways, because taxis are scarce at 02:00, and whatever you choose to spend at the auction. If you bring a companion, her seat is yours to buy, on top of the booking itself. For most of our clients the seat is the contribution and the auction is optional.

Dress Codes, Arrival and the Photo Wall

Black tie means a dinner jacket at the Rotary and Global Gift galas; the AECC dinner has asked for black tie optional or cocktail chic, and Starlite sets a theme each year. Arrive within the first half hour of the reception, and decide before you leave the car if you will stop at the photo wall.

Black Tie, Cocktail Chic and Themes

The 2025 event listing for the AECC dinner spelled out the code: dark suits or dinner jackets for men, long dresses or elegant midi lengths for women. Take Starlite's theme literally: masks in 2025, Peace & Love in 2026. Most of the venues are open-air in high summer, from the Finca La Concepción gardens to the Starlite quarry and the beach club at the Don Carlos, so a lighter dinner jacket earns its place.

Arrival Times and the Running Order

The AECC's 2025 running order is typical: photocall and reception from 19:30, cocktail at 20:00, seated dinner and awards at 21:30, concerts at 23:15, a DJ from 00:30 and the close at about 02:00. Global Gift starts its red carpet at 20:00 and sits down at 21:00, and the Rotary gala starts at 20:30. Book the return car before you leave home: a garden or a quarry emptying at 02:00 is not where you want to be looking for a taxi.

The Photo Wall and the Society Pages

The big galas all have a photocall or red carpet at the entrance, and the local society press publishes galleries with names within days; for Global Gift 2026 a photo special was announced before the event. Nobody is obliged to stop. A polite no to the photographer and a steady walk past the wall is normal, and arriving after the first rush of the reception means fewer cameras. Decide this before you arrive, not at the step.

Attending a Gala With an Event Companion

It works well if you settle three things in advance: how you introduce her, how you both handle the photo wall, and a story that survives a table of ten. Book an event companion two to four weeks ahead, buy her seat with yours, and plan an overnight rather than a dinner date, because these nights run well past midnight. The gala-specific points; our event guide covers the rest.

Introductions and the Seating Plan

Give the organiser her first name only for the place card, and introduce her the same way. At a charity dinner the question that comes up most is how you know the foundation, so have a one-line answer for both of you. If you buy single seats rather than a table, expect strangers on either side and long conversations, which is why we send event companions who enjoy a seated room. Our event booking guide covers the briefing, the story and the deposit.

The Photo Wall Question

Most companions would rather not appear in a society gallery, and most clients feel the same once they think about it. Agree to skip the wall together, so she is never the one refusing a photographer alone, and arrive twenty minutes into the reception. If you are photographed as a sponsor or table host, let her go ahead to the table while you stop. A VIP companion has usually done this at the coast's bigger events and will steer you past the wall without fuss.

Discretion on a Small Circuit

Many of the same faces appear at the Rotary, Global Gift, AECC and Starlite dinners, so if you attend more than one, bring the same companion or keep the story identical. For the Golden Mile galas, at Puente Romano or in the quarry above it, our Golden Mile escorts page covers outcalls to the hotels nearby. A gala night is best booked as an overnight, €3,000 to €4,000 depending on the companion and the length, at the same price in August as in any other month; our overnight rates post sets that against extending a dinner date.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a ticket to the Starlite Gala cost?

The 2025 Starlite Gala asked a minimum of €1,000 per cover, with the money going to the foundation's projects. The auction comes on top: the top lot in 2026, a David Bowie tribute painting, sold for €30,000. Tickets for the Starlite concert season in the same quarry are a separate purchase.

Can anyone buy a ticket to a Marbella charity gala?

Yes, for most of them. The Rotary, AECC and Global Gift galas sell individual places and tables through their organisers, and the Starlite Gala takes cover reservations online. You do not need an invitation, but the popular dinners fill up, so book a few weeks ahead for anything in August.

Do I have to bid at a charity auction?

No. Buying your seat is enough, and nobody expects every guest to bid. If you do, set a ceiling before the first lot and stop there, because a raised paddle is a commitment to pay. The raffle is the low-cost way to contribute, and at the 2026 AECC dinner it offered more than 300 prizes.

Can I bring a companion to a charity gala in Marbella?

Yes. Buy her seat with yours, give the organiser her first name for the place card, and agree how you will introduce her. Allow two to four weeks to book an event companion for a summer gala, and plan an overnight rather than a dinner date, since most galas run well past midnight.

Taking a Companion to a Gala?

Send us the gala, the date, the dress code and if the table is your own or shared. We will suggest companions who are at ease in a black-tie room, confirm availability for the night and confirm the price and her taxi.
