Marbella Events Calendar 2026: The Dates That Move the Coast

Most of what fills Marbella is fixed a year ahead: Holy Week, the town's June feria, the Starlite summer in the Nagüeles quarry, the August fortnight, October's ferias and the run from Christmas to Reyes. Grand Prix weekends and regattas, which visitors expect to fill it, barely register outside one marina. Dates decide hotel rates, tables and how much notice we need for Marbella escorts; when one of our Marbella escort bookings goes wrong, it is usually on a date nobody checked. In 2026 the fixed points were Holy Week (29 March to 5 April), the Feria de San Bernabé (8 to 14 June), Starlite's 49 concerts (19 June to 4 September), the Málaga feria (15 to 22 August), the San Pedro Alcántara feria (13 to 19 October) and Christmas to Reyes on 6 January.

Below are the dates, what each does to the coast, and which need notice.

Marbella's 2026 Calendar at a Glance

Eleven dates did most of the work in 2026, from the Reyes holiday in January to New Year's Eve. Some move hotel numbers along the whole coast, such as Holy Week and mid-August; others fill one street, one hillside or one marina. The table sets out each date, its place and its effect.

What the Hotel Figures Show

INE's hotel occupancy survey counts guest-nights in Marbella's hotels every month, and it shows which dates move numbers. Spanish residents spent 59,511 nights in the town's hotels in April 2025, the month Holy Week fell, more than in any month except August, at 75,121. Foreign guests outnumber Spanish ones all year, by about 3.7 to 1 in August. December is the odd month: rooms were 40% occupied in 2025, against 55% in November, yet the average room rate rose from €171 to €227. Fewer guests, paying for the festive nights.

Holy Week and the Jerez MotoGP: March to May

Spring has two fixed points. Holy Week ran from 29 March to 5 April in 2026 and runs from 21 to 28 March in 2027, with Holy Thursday and Good Friday as public holidays. MotoGP's Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez, 176 km west, took the last weekend of April.

Holy Week Sets the Spring Calendar

Processions leave the old town's churches every evening from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. The BOE's 2026 holiday list made Holy Thursday (2 April) and Good Friday (3 April) public holidays in Andalusia, so Spanish families tend to arrive on the Wednesday evening. Lifeguards work Holy Week, then weekends only until June, and the beach clubs open around Easter. The early date in 2027 matters: in late March the sea averages about 15.6°C. Jerez, a Design Fair and the First Offshore Race

MotoGP raced at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto from 24 to 26 April 2026, about two hours west by motorway; the effect here stays in the marina. March brought Marbella Design & Art to the Palacio de Congresos, with the next edition in 2027. The Marbella–Ceuta–Sotogrande offshore race left the town marina on 1 May, and Sotogrande's spring polo began on 26 May. By INE's count, hotel rooms were 69% occupied in April 2025 and 76% in May, against 83% in August.

June: The Feria, the Lifeguards and San Juan

June opens the public beach season on the 1st, with daily lifeguards and the beach ordinance in force. The Feria de San Bernabé followed from 8 to 14 June in 2026, Starlite opened on the 19th and San Juan's bonfires lit the beaches on the night of the 23rd.

San Bernabé Fills the Town, Not the Coast

Marbella's feria honours its patron, San Bernabé, whose feast day is 11 June, a Thursday in 2026. The day fair fills the Alameda park and Avenida del Mar from midday; the night fair runs on the fairground at Arroyo Primero, a taxi ride from the centre, until dawn. The effect is concentrated: old-town restaurants and the taxi ranks are full, while a Golden Mile hotel barely notices. The Real Club Marítimo's Trofeo San Bernabé regatta sailed on 6 June, the Saturday before. Our feria guide covers both halves.

Daily Lifeguards and Bonfire Night

Marbella's beach ordinance sets the bathing season at 1 June to 15 October, with daily lifeguards until 30 September; our beach season explainer has the rules and the fines. On 23 June the sun sets at about 21:41 and bonfires go up in the zones the town hall names each year. Mijas held its first summer fair, at Las Lagunas, the same week (24 to 28 June). Formula 1's Barcelona round, 12 to 14 June, was more than 1,000 km away by road and changed nothing here.

July and August: Starlite, Polo, Galas and the Málaga Feria

High summer stacks events on top of the year's busiest weeks. Starlite plays most nights, the charity galas cluster from late July, Sotogrande's International Polo ran from 27 July to 29 August in 2026, and Málaga's feria takes the week of 15 August, a national holiday that fell on a Saturday in 2026.

Starlite: 49 Concerts in a Quarry

The 2026 Starlite season ran to 49 concerts in the Cantera de Nagüeles, a former quarry on Calle Albinoni above the Golden Mile, from Ozuna on 19 June to Manuel Carrasco on 4 September, with Lenny Kravitz, Maroon 5 and John Legend in between. The auditorium seats 3,500, so the strain falls on the hill road and the taxi ranks when a show lets out. Starlite moves to Madrid from November to February. Galas, Polo and the Málaga Feria

The Global Gift Gala takes a late-July weekend, the AECC cancer dinner the first Saturday of August and the Starlite Gala a Sunday soon after; seats run from about €150 to €1,000 or more, as our gala guide sets out. Sotogrande's International Polo, 45 minutes west, ran from 27 July to 29 August; our polo calendar lists every cup. Do Race Weekends and Regattas Fill Marbella?

Less than visitors expect. No Formula 1 or MotoGP race runs within 170 km; the nearest, at Jerez, is about two hours west. Puerto Banús is a motor-yacht marina whose August fullness comes from superyachts, not sailing, and its only listed race in 2026 falls on 7 November.

Grand Prix Weekends: A Marina Effect

Spain's two Formula 1 rounds in 2026 were the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix (12 to 14 June) and the first Spanish Grand Prix on Madrid's new Madring street circuit (11 to 13 September), about 1,030 km and 590 km away by road. What reaches Marbella is a marina scene: race screenings on terraces and supercars parked along the quay in Puerto Banús on the Saturday night. The rest of the coast runs as normal. Regattas Sail From Sotogrande and Málaga

The Andalusian Sailing Federation's 2026 calendar put the bigger races elsewhere: the Málaga Sailing Cup (11 to 14 June) and the Copa Sotogrande (14 to 16 August). Marbella's Real Club Marítimo, founded in 1957, runs club racing from the town marina, and its Senda Azul race off Puerto Banús on 7 November is the only one listed for the port. Banús's 915 berths, for boats up to 50 metres, fill from late July with superyachts; our regatta guide explains where to watch boats instead.

September and October: Ferias, Film and Long Weekends

Autumn is busier than its reputation. Mijas Pueblo's feria runs to 12 September, the film festival and the Hispanidad festival share the 12 October long weekend, San Pedro Alcántara holds its feria from 13 to 19 October, and Monday holidays on 12 October and 2 November create long weekends.

September: Mijas, Madrid and the Last Lifeguards

Mijas Pueblo's feria peaked on 8 September, its patron's day, within a 7 to 12 September run, and F1's Madrid weekend (11 to 13 September) overlapped its end. The Festival Internacional de Música fills the first half of the month with piano recitals, Sotogrande's autumn polo continues until 18 October, and the lifeguards stand down on 30 September, with the sea still near 22°C. INE found rooms 76% occupied in September 2025 at an average rate of €253, almost a third below August.

October: Film, Hispanidad and San Pedro's Feria

The 21st Marbella International Film Festival runs from 7 to 12 October, with screenings at €10 a film in Puerto Banús; our film festival guide covers passes and the gala. The Festival de la Hispanidad fills La Represa park from 9 to 12 October with food and music from ten Latin American countries. Then San Pedro Alcántara's feria runs from 13 to 19 October, with free concerts by OBK and Modestia Aparte (16th), Pasión Vega (17th) and Camela (18th). Clocks go back on 25 October, and Monday 2 November, the moved All Saints' holiday, gives Spanish visitors one more long weekend.

Christmas to Reyes: 5 December to 6 January

December has two waves. The Constitution long weekend, Saturday 5 to Tuesday 8 December in 2026, brings Spanish visitors; then Christmas, New Year's Eve and Reyes run to 6 January. Hotels show the shape of it: fewer guests than in November, paying higher room rates.

The December Long Weekend and Christmas

Constitution Day falls on a Sunday in 2026, so Monday 7 December became the holiday, and with the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday the 8th that makes a four-day weekend. Christmas Eve is the family dinner, so restaurants close early or serve one sitting; Christmas Day is a Friday. New Year's Eve and the Reyes Parade

New Year's Eve is the most requested night of our winter. Hotel galas open at 8pm and are prepaid: Marbella Club charged €1,270 a head for 31 December 2025 and Puente Romano €550 with wine, while La Sala in Puerto Banús lists €290 plus service for 2026. Taxis all but vanish between 00:30 and 2am, so book a driver. Our New Year's Eve guide has the timings. Booking a Companion Around the Calendar

Our rate does not change with the calendar, €300 an hour all year. What event dates change most is notice: gala nights, Starlite headliners and New Year's Eve need two weeks, while a feria evening or a film festival screening needs a few days.

Which Format Suits Which Date

A concert or a feria night with dinner suits a dinner date of three hours or more, from €900. A gala, Starlite with the club afterwards or New Year's Eve runs past 2am, so we suggest an overnight, €3,000 to €4,000. Polo days in Sotogrande are outside Marbella, so the minimum is two hours and her taxi is yours to pay. What to Send With the Date

Send the event, start time, dress code and venue, and say whether you hold two tickets: gala seats sell out before companions do. Tell us how you are getting home, because the taxi gap after Starlite or midnight on 31 December is what most often goes wrong.
