From the shops on the port it is a ten-minute walk; from Marbella's old town it is about 8 km, or 15 minutes by taxi outside rush hour. That short hop is the club's real advantage over the clubs east of town, and the reason we suggest it to clients staying in Nueva Andalucía or on the marina: no car, no transfer, and dinner in the port afterwards is a walk.
A Pool Club That Happens to Face the Sea
The club describes its centrepiece as a huge saltwater pool, and the layout follows: the extra-large beds face the water, the DJ faces the beds, and the sea is the backdrop. The club says Spanish rules keep the music off until 12:00, so the first hour is quiet; it builds through the afternoon until the doors close at 21:00. What the €300 Actually Buys
The cheapest packages are mostly a champagne voucher. Perrier-Jouët's entry bottle, the Grand Brut, lists at €270 on the 2026 drinks menu, so a €300 bed for three costs about €30 more than a bottle most groups would order anyway. At the top, the VIP Deck's two bottles of Belle Époque list at €500 each, which leaves roughly €100 for the bed itself before the weekend minimum. Included bottles cannot be exchanged for anything else, and nobody leaves the club with a bottle, so plan to drink what you paid for.
Weekend Minimums on the VIP Rows
The minimum spend is separate from the bed price and is paid at reception on arrival on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and event days. A VIP Square Plus Sofa on a Saturday therefore commits a group to €2,100: €1,100 for the bed and its two bottles, plus €1,000 of food and drink. Midweek the same bed costs €1,100 in total. For a couple the three-person beds are the sensible size; the eight-person beds only pay off when the group fills them.
Booking, Payment and the House Rules
Beds are prepaid in full, non-refundable, allocated first paid, first served, and held only until 16:00. Payment goes by card on the club's booking site, by bank transfer received a week ahead, or at reception, never by phone. Dress is elegant beachwear; sportswear, body glitter and hen-party kit are refused.
Prepaid, Non-Refundable, Held Until 4pm
No reservation is guaranteed until it is paid in full, and allocation follows payment order, so the best beds go to whoever pays first rather than whoever asks first. If bad weather stops play, the booking moves to another day or becomes a credit voucher; otherwise there are no refunds. The rule that matters most is the clock: a prepaid bed is guaranteed until 16:00, so somebody must be on it by then.
The Dress Code and the Small Print
Ocean Club asks for elegant beachwear and refuses fancy dress, hen-party accessories, body glitter, face gems and sportswear. Clothes go back on to walk in and out of the premises. Two rules surprise people: no outside food or drink, and no tanning lotion containing carotene or tints, which rules out many self-tan products. Amaï: What Lunch and Drinks Cost in 2026
The restaurant, Amaï, opens its kitchen at noon and serves a long menu that runs from Andalusian starters through sushi to Josper-grilled steak. Prices on the 2026 lunch menu run from €24 for edamame to €95 for a Kobe beef fajita; a beer is €12 and most cocktails €22.
From Gazpacho to Kobe Fajitas
On the 2026 menu the gazpacho is €25, Montaraz ibérico ham with Manchego €48, seafood ceviche €41 and tuna tataki €43. Sushi rolls run €33 to €41, with a mixed platter at €145 or €195. Açaí or mango bowls at €26 suit a hot afternoon. Mains include a smash wagyu burger at €38, poke bowls from €43 and a 300 g Josper sirloin or fillet at €54; pizzas run €26 to €48. Two courses each for two, with water and a cocktail apiece, lands between €180 and €250 before champagne.
€12 Beers, €22 Cocktails, €270 Champagne
A Corona is €12, a soft drink €7 and a 75 cl bottle of Solán de Cabras water €11. Most signature cocktails are €22 and alcohol-free versions €16. Whispering Angel rosé is €79 a bottle. Champagne starts at €270 for Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut, with Dom Pérignon 2017 at €495, Belle Époque at €500 and Cristal at €650; spirits by the bottle start at €285. The menus we read print no service charge, whereas La Cabane and Playa Padre add 10%.
Service, Crowd and the Weekly Programme
Waiters serve the beds, so food and bottles come to you. The crowd changes with the day. The club itself recommends weekdays for families with young children, Fridays and Sundays carry its themed parties, and the opening and closing parties are strictly for over-18s with photo ID.
Families Midweek, Parties at the Weekend
The club's terms call it a family venue and suggest weekdays for anyone bringing young children, which tells you how the week divides. In 2026 Fridays carried Elements and Sundays Retro Society, with floating pilates and yoga on Wednesdays and Sundays. The music starts as a chill-out set and builds into a party, so the loudest hours come late in the afternoon. What the 2026 Closing Party Cost
The closing party on 3 October 2026 showed the club at full price. General entry was €275 a head, with a flying buffet and either ten drink tickets or a sealed bottle of Belle Époque to take home. Tables for ten carried minimum spends of €3,000, €4,500, €6,000 and €10,000. Doors opened at 17:00 and closed to arrivals at 22:00, the party ran until midnight, the dress code was 1950s adventurer or simply black, and photo ID proving 18 or over was compulsory. The opening party follows the same adults-only rule.
Who Should Book Ocean Club, and Who Should Not?
Book it for a group of three to eight who want champagne by a pool within walking distance of Puerto Banús, or a couple who want the weekend atmosphere. Skip it if the sea is the point, if you want a long quiet lunch, or if €300 for a bed feels like the wrong use of money.
Where It Earns the Money
Ocean Club is at its best for groups who would buy champagne anyway, because the packages fold the bottles into the bed. It suits clients staying in Puerto Banús or Nueva Andalucía, since nobody needs a car, and it suits a Friday or Sunday, when the programme gives the afternoon a shape. Where We Send People Instead
For a long lunch where the cooking matters more than the DJ, we send clients east to La Cabane, the Los Monteros club with a Dani García menu. For a Sunday with a guest DJ that runs past dark, Playa Padre on El Cable beach opens until midnight on Thursdays and Sundays in season. For swimming, Marbella's eight Blue Flag beaches, which must test excellent for water quality, are a safer bet than the unflagged sand in front of Ocean Club.
Getting There and Getting Home
Walk from the marina in about ten minutes, or take a taxi: about 8 km and 15 minutes from Marbella's old town. Book the return before you arrive, because the club closes at 21:00 and most beds empty within the same half hour, just as Puerto Banús taxis fill with dinner traffic.
What the Taxi Costs
Marbella's 2026 taxi tariff is €3.79 plus €1.12 a kilometre by day, and €4.64 plus €1.41 a kilometre at night and at weekends. Leaving at 21:00
The club shuts at 21:00, and the taxi queue on Avenida Lola Flores forms within minutes. Two fixes work: pre-book a car for 20:45, or walk ten minutes into the port and eat there while the rush clears. Most of our clients do the second, because dinner in Puerto Banús at 21:30 is the natural end to the day and nobody changes venue by car. Pack a change of clothes; the club's beachwear code is not what the port's restaurants expect at night.
Bringing a Companion to Ocean Club
Book the bed first, then the companion. Take a three-person bed for a couple and arrive before 16:00 so the prepaid bed is held. A pool afternoon that runs on into dinner is priced at €300 an hour, or as an overnight if it runs into the night; the bed is paid to the club.
Choosing the Day and the Bed
Friday to Sunday is when Ocean Club is an adult room; weekdays are when the club suggests families with small children come. A Small Round or Frontline Square bed (up to three people, €300) gives a couple room for bags and a bottle, while the VIP rows only make sense for a group. Puerto Banús and Golden Mile bookings are €300 an hour, weekends included, and the client pays her taxi to the booking. An afternoon at the pool that continues to dinner in the port uses the same hourly rate, so noon to seven is €2,100, and anything that runs into the night is an overnight at €3,000 to €4,000, depending on the companion and the length; a dinner date alone is a minimum of three hours, so from €900.
