After-Hours in Marbella: Closing Times, the Last Doors and Getting Home

Marbella's nights end later than most of Europe's, but they do end, and the rules decide when. Andalusia allows clubs to stay open until six in the morning, seven at weekends, and then the music stops, the lights come on and the room must be empty within half an hour. After 4am in Marbella, only licensed clubs may still be open, until 06:00 or 07:00 at weekends; after that the night moves to private villas and suites, to breakfast or to the beach at sunrise, and getting home means a night-rate taxi at €4.64 plus €1.41 a kilometre.

What Time Do Bars and Clubs Close in Marbella?

Andalusia sets the limits: bars and restaurants without music close by 02:00, pubs and bars with a music licence by 03:00, and clubs by 06:00, each an hour later on Fridays, Saturdays and the eve of a holiday. Outdoor terraces must stop serving by 02:00 whatever the venue's licence says.

Why There Is No Eight O'Clock Club

The same order says music bars and clubs may not open to the public before 12:00, and that at closing time the music stops, no more drinks are served, nobody else is admitted, the lights go on and the venue must be empty within 30 minutes. So the last legal dance floor in Marbella empties at about 07:30 on a weekend morning, and a morning after-hours club is not a thing here. The council can extend hours for its own fiestas, and by up to two hours at Christmas, from 23 December to 6 January, and over Easter.

Which Venues Stay Open Latest in 2026?

Among venues that publish their hours, Olivia Valere's club runs from 00:30 to 05:00, COYA Club at Puente Romano until 04:00 from Thursday to Saturday, and the casino's gaming room until 04:00. Joys Live and Claude's close at 03:00. The Puerto Banús clubs do not publish closing times; their licences allow 06:00, or 07:00 at weekends.

The Published Closing Times

The Olivia Valere club page gives 00:30 to 05:00, on the Istán road just off the Golden Mile. Puente Romano lists COYA Club from 21:00 to 04:00, Thursday to Saturday. What Is Left After Four

After 04:00 the choice narrows to the late clubs and to private places, and on quiet nights some clubs close well before their legal limit. In July and August a weekend night at the port can run to 06:00 or 07:00; out of season many venues close earlier or open only at weekends. Private After-Parties: Villas and Hotel Suites

Most of Marbella's after-hours happens behind closed doors. The rules still apply: the council's civic coexistence ordinance bars music and noise that disturb neighbours, especially between 00:00 and 08:00, and residents must keep sound systems from carrying outside. Hotels register guests who stay overnight, not visitors who leave.

Villa Parties and the Neighbours

Marbella's civic coexistence ordinance, published on 18 June 2019, prohibits disturbing neighbours' rest without municipal permission, especially between midnight and 08:00, whether by music equipment, singing or shouting, and requires residents to keep loud sound systems from reaching outside. In a villa that means music indoors with the doors shut after midnight, and nobody in the pool at 05:00 shouting. Hotel Suites

A suite is the easier after-party: no neighbours through a wall and staff used to late returns. Spain's guest-registration rules, Royal Decree 933/2021, apply to guests who stay, aged 14 and over, not to visitors who leave, though each hotel sets its own policy on visitors. Getting Home: Taxis, Fares and Timing

Taxis are the answer at 05:00. Marbella's 2026 night tariff, approved on 5 February 2026, is €4.64 plus €1.41 a kilometre, with a €6.81 minimum; it applies from 22:00 to 06:00 on weekdays and all day at weekends and on holidays. Puerto Banús to the old town costs about €15.

The 2026 Fares

Supplements are €1 for a pick-up and €3 for five or more passengers, according to the council's tariff page. On our route measurements, Puerto Banús to the Alameda is 7.3 km, about €15 at night, and to Puente Romano 3.8 km, about €10.

Avoiding the Five O'Clock Queue

The problem is not the price but the queue: when the port's clubs empty, everyone wants a taxi at once. Leave twenty minutes before the crowd or after it, book a car or driver in advance if you are staying inland or in Benahavís, and agree the meeting point, because the marina's lanes are pedestrian. Sunrise: When the Night Becomes Morning

The Beach at Dawn

The best after-hours on this coast is free: a walk down to the sea as the sky goes pale, with the promenade empty and the cafés setting out their chairs. Do not swim after a night out; there are no lifeguards at that hour and the water is colder than it looks at dawn. The Day After

A night that ends at 07:00 costs most of the next day, and on a three-night trip that is a third of your daylight. Our advice is to do it once, on the last night or the night before a lazy day, and to plan the other evenings to end at 02:00 or 03:00. How Late Is Too Late? What We Advise

The best Marbella nights we arrange end between 03:00 and 04:00, with food on the way home and the beach the next afternoon. After-hours is worth doing once, on purpose, with the return planned before you leave. What goes wrong at 05:00 is predictable: no cash, a flat phone and a taxi queue.

Plan the End First

Decide where the night ends before it starts: the hotel, the villa or the beach. Charge your phone at dinner, keep enough cash for the taxi and food, and save the address of where you are staying in Spanish. If you are hosting at a villa, tell the guests the music goes indoors at midnight, and mean it. These four details prevent most of the calls we get at five in the morning.

Staying Sensible

Marbella is not a dangerous place at night, but the hours after four are when people make poor decisions. Stay with your group, avoid unlicensed rides touting outside clubs, keep valuables in the hotel safe, and drink water between drinks. If you are with a companion, leave the logistics to us: we know the late doors, the taxi ranks and the drivers who answer at 05:00.
