- Sleep on the Golden Mile: Puerto Banús is about 5 km away and the old town about 6 km
- Book three things before you fly: Casa Eladio on Friday, the Saturday boat or cabana, and Saturday night at COYA
- A four-hour charter from Puerto Banús runs from about €900 (42-foot boat) to €2,355 (Princess V58, July and August)
- COYA Club at Puente Romano runs from a 21:30 dinner to 04:00, Thursday to Saturday, with no taxi in between
- Two people spend about €800 to €3,600 before hotel, transfers and any companion
Most of our weekend clients land at Málaga on a Friday afternoon, reach the Golden Mile around six and fly home on Sunday evening. Forty-eight hours is enough for Marbella town, the Golden Mile and Puerto Banús, which sit within ten minutes of each other, provided nobody spends Saturday morning recovering from Friday. The best 48 hours in Marbella: sleep on the Golden Mile, eat in the old town on Friday, give Saturday to a boat out of Puerto Banús or a cabana on the beach, dine and dance under one roof that night, and finish with a long Sunday lunch on the sand before a 17:00 car to the airport.
It is the plan we hand clients who book Marbella escorts for a weekend; our Puerto Banús escorts page covers the port end of it.
How Do You Fit Marbella Into 48 Hours?
Stay on the Golden Mile, which puts the old town about ten minutes away and Puerto Banús about seven. Book three things before you fly: Friday's dinner, Saturday's boat or beach club, and Saturday night's table. Then live on Spanish time: lunch at two, dinner at half past nine, nothing loud before one.
Sleep on the Golden Mile, Between Town and Port
The Golden Mile hotels sit almost exactly halfway: from Puente Romano it is about 6 km by road to the Plaza de los Naranjos and under 5 km to Puerto Banús, roughly ten and seven minutes outside the rush. Stay in the port and Friday in the old town means a taxi each way; stay in town and Saturday ends in a queue for one. The Marbella Club (two Michelin Keys) and Puente Romano (more than twenty restaurants and bars) are a short beach walk apart. Our review of every five-star hotel in Marbella compares the rooms.
18:00 Friday: Land, Then Work to the Spanish Clock
Málaga airport handled 26.8 million passengers in 2025, 7.4% more than in 2024, according to Aena's figures, and Friday afternoon is when it shows. The 59 km to the Golden Mile take about 50 minutes on a clear road; on a summer Friday allow 75 and book the car with your flight number (our transfer comparison has the options). Then the local clock takes over: lunch from 14:00 to 16:00, dinner from 21:30, clubs from 01:00. Sunset is about 21:40 in late June and 18:05 in late December.
Friday 19:30–01:00: The Old Town, Dinner and One Drink
Take a ten-minute taxi to the seafront end of the Avenida del Mar, walk up past the Dalí bronzes to the Plaza de los Naranjos, and sit down at Casa Eladio at 21:30. Finish with one drink back at the Marbella Club and be in bed by one. Friday is the warm-up, not the main event. Three stops, all on foot or a short cab.
20:00 Avenida del Mar to the Plaza de los Naranjos
The Avenida del Mar runs up from the beach and holds ten bronze sculptures by Salvador Dalí, as Marbella's Wikipedia entry records. Cross the main road and the old town begins. The Plaza de los Naranjos was laid out after the Castilian conquest of 1485 and is framed by the town hall, the 16th-century Casa del Corregidor and the Ermita de Santiago. Drink on its edge if you like, but eat elsewhere: the terraces on the square are priced for the view. Our old town by night guide has the full route.
21:30 Dinner at Casa Eladio
Casa Eladio, on Calle Virgen de los Dolores, is a third-generation family restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide since 2023: traditional cooking brought up to date, strong on local fish and Iberian pork. Order the red tuna tartare with almond gazpacho. Its own site lists a short tasting menu at €80 and a long one at €105, drinks extra and for the whole table only. It closes on Thursdays, which matters if you are tempted to fly in a day early. In summer, ask for the terrace.
23:45 One Nightcap at the Marbella Club
From May to September the Marbella Club's Summer Bar runs from 19:00 to 01:00 in an orange grove with nightly live music; from October to May the evening moves indoors to Rudi's and its fire, where classic cocktails are €28 and the signatures €32. The dress code is enforced at both: long trousers, no trainers, no sandals. One drink, then bed. The commonest weekend mistake we see is spending Friday as if it were Saturday; our luxury weekend planner covers booking order and the wider budget.
Saturday 11:00–17:30: A Boat From Puerto Banús or the Beach?
Pick one, not both. A four-hour charter out of Puerto Banús, 11:00 to 15:00, costs from about €900 for a 42-foot boat to €2,355 for a Princess V58 in July and August. On land, take a pier cabana at the Marbella Club Beach Club and lunch there. Either way, be back in your room by 18:00. The siesta is part of the plan.
11:00 Four Hours on the Water
Puerto Banús is a marina and shopping complex west of Marbella town, opened in May 1970, with 915 berths for boats of up to 50 metres. One operator there lists a 42-foot boat at €900 for four hours from June to September (€800 otherwise), a Rodman 44 flybridge at €1,150, and a Princess V58 at €2,108 in June and September and €2,355 in July and August. Crew is included; ask about fuel and catering. Four hours is right: an hour out, two at anchor with lunch, an hour back. Our charter booking guide covers deposits.
11:30 Or a Cabana on the Marbella Club Pier
The Marbella Club Beach Club serves lunch all year: bar from 11:00, à la carte from 13:00 to 17:30 Monday to Saturday, cabanas on the old pier, and sunbeds charged to residents and visitors alike. On the 2026 menu starters run €19 to €42, mains €42 to €56, and Whispering Angel is €105 a bottle. It is calmer than the clubs at the port, which is the point on a day that ends at four in the morning. Our beach club price guide compares minimum spends along the coast. Either way, sleep from 18:00 to 20:30.
Saturday 21:30–04:00: Dinner and Dancing Under One Roof
Book COYA at Puente Romano for 21:30 and stay put: from Thursday to Saturday the Peruvian restaurant turns into COYA Club, with a live show and DJs until 04:00. Most mains cost €38 to €88 and bottles start at €400. It removes the thing that spoils most Saturdays here, which is the taxi queue at three. Book it before you book the flight.
21:30 COYA, Then COYA Club
COYA Club is the late-night version of COYA, the Peruvian restaurant inside Puente Romano: dinner from 21:00 (last booking 22:00), then a live show and DJs, then dancing until 04:00, Thursday to Saturday. On the club's October 2025 menu a classic ceviche is €20, a 250 g spicy beef fillet €52 and half a lobster €88; on the bottle list Grey Goose is €400, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs €450 and 2015 Dom Pérignon €600. Smart casual is enforced: no open shoes, shorts or sleeveless tops for men. Book a week ahead in summer and two for an August Saturday.
01:30 If You Would Rather End the Night Elsewhere
Puerto Banús is seven minutes away, and its rooms fill after 01:30; our Puerto Banús nightclub guide covers door policy, table minimums and what a night costs. Inland, Olivia Valere on the Istán road currently opens on Fridays and Saturdays with the strictest dress code we know: shirts mandatory for men, and no caps, shorts or sandals. Wherever you go, book the car home when you book the table. In our experience the taxi rank at the port at 04:00 on an August Saturday is the longest queue in Marbella.
Sunday 11:00–18:00: The Port by Daylight and a Long Lunch
Sleep late, then walk Puerto Banús at midday, when crews are hosing down decks and the front line is half empty. Lunch at 13:30 on the sand at Chiringuito Puente Romano, which opens every day and takes its first booking at 13:00. Leave for the airport at 17:00 for a flight after 20:00. The easiest day of the three.
11:30 Puerto Banús Before the Crowd
Marbella town hall puts Puerto Banús at nearly five million visitors a year, most of them after dark. At midday on a Sunday you can walk the whole front line in twenty minutes, see the big boats on the outer quay without a crowd and take a coffee facing the water. It is also the moment to learn the layout: the taxi rank, the streets back to the main road, Plaza Antonio Banderas behind the marina. That knowledge pays off the next time you are here at three in the morning.
13:30 Lunch on the Sand, Then the 17:00 Car
Chiringuito Puente Romano opens at 12:30, seats lunch from 13:00 and keeps its kitchen going until 23:30. On the May 2026 menu an espeto of sardines is €20, fried calamares €28, Gillardeau oysters €10 each and Whispering Angel €17 a glass, so two people eat well for €150 to €250 with a bottle. La Milla, a few steps along the same beach, is the quieter alternative: whole fish baked in salt and more than 800 wines. Leave at 17:00; in our experience Sunday traffic towards Málaga thickens early.
What to Book Before You Fly, and What It Costs
Book the boat or cabana and Saturday's COYA table one to two weeks ahead in summer, and Casa Eladio a few days ahead. Leave the walk, the nightcap and Sunday morning unbooked. Excluding hotel, transfers and any companion, two people spend about €800 with the beach option and up to €3,600 with a big boat and a bottle.
The Weekend, Block by Block
Costs are for two people at 2026 prices taken from each venue's own menus and rate cards.

The Winter Version: November to March
The shape survives the winter; the edges move. The Summer Bar closes at the end of September and Rudi's takes over, while the Marbella Club's Beach Club keeps serving lunch all year. Beach clubs elsewhere shorten their week (Nikki Beach was already on Thursday-to-Sunday hours in early October 2026), and with sunset around 18:05 in December the boat becomes a short midday trip at low-season rates. If the sea is grey, swap it for the Six Senses spa at Puente Romano, where a one-hour wet-zone pass costs non-residents €90. Our winter guide lists what else stays open.
Where Does a Companion Fit Into a 48-Hour Marbella Weekend?
Usually in two blocks: a Friday dinner date of three hours at least, and Saturday from the boat or beach through dinner, the club and breakfast as an overnight. The price is the same on a weekend as on a weekday. Booking both blocks in one message lets us match one companion to the whole weekend and quote the two prices together.
Friday: A Dinner Date From 21:00 to 01:00
Friday suits a dinner date: three or four hours, from €900, starting with a drink at the hotel at 21:00, then Casa Eladio and the nightcap. It ends before the night turns into a late one, which is what Friday needs. Send us the table time and the hotel and the arrival is timed to the reservation. You pay her directly before the booking starts, in cash, by bank transfer or in crypto; a weekend booking made in advance takes a 25 per cent deposit by transfer or crypto, to her or to us, with the balance paid to her at the start.
Saturday: From the Boat to Breakfast
Saturday rewards continuity rather than another short booking. A half day on the boat with a companion is €300 an hour, so four hours is €1,200 with the boat paid separately, and an overnight of ten to twelve hours (€3,000 to €4,000 depending on the companion and the length) covers COYA, the club and a slow breakfast. Clients who want the unhurried version of the weekend book a girlfriend-experience companion for this stretch. Our weekend versus weekday post explains how demand differs, and the four-day itinerary shows the same bookings spread over a longer stay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 48 hours enough time in Marbella?
For Marbella town, the Golden Mile and Puerto Banús, yes, if you stay between them and book three things in advance. It is not enough to add Ronda, Málaga or Sotogrande; any excursion costs you the beach or the siesta that makes Saturday night work. Save those for a trip of four days or more.
Where should I stay for a weekend in Marbella?
On the Golden Mile. From Puente Romano it is under 5 km to Puerto Banús and about 6 km to the old town, roughly seven and ten minutes by car, and the Marbella Club is a beach walk away. Staying in the port makes Friday awkward; staying in town turns Saturday night's ride home into the problem.
What time do people eat and go out in Marbella?
Lunch runs from about 14:00 to 16:00 and dinner starts around 21:30; a 20:00 table means an empty room in summer. Clubs fill after 01:00 and the late rooms run to 04:00 or beyond. Most visitors who find the weekend exhausting have simply skipped the 18:00 siesta.
How much does a weekend in Marbella cost for two people?
Excluding hotel, transfers and any companion, this 48-hour plan costs two people about €800 with a beach club on Saturday and up to €3,600 with a Princess V58 for four hours and a bottle at COYA Club. The boat is the biggest variable, followed by whatever gets ordered after midnight.
Does a Marbella weekend work in winter?
Mostly. From October the Marbella Club's evening bar moves from the garden to Rudi's, beach clubs shorten their weeks and the sun sets around 18:05 by late December, so a boat trip becomes a short midday one. Restaurants, the old town and the Golden Mile resorts carry on, with charters at low-season rates.
