Clients ask us every spring when the beach clubs open, and the honest answer is not Easter. The clubs stagger their starts through April, but the weekend that behaves like an opening, with tickets and dress codes, is the long weekend around 1 May. As a Marbella escort agency, we find it is the first weekend of the year when our diary fills. Marbella's beach club opening weekend is the 1 May long weekend: in 2026 Ocean Club's opening party and La Sala by the Sea's reopening fell on Friday 1 May, Pangea's White Party on Saturday 2 May, and tickets started at €250 a head.

When Is the Beach Club Opening Weekend?
On the long weekend around 1 May. In 2026 Spain's Labour Day holiday fell on Friday 1 May and the UK early May bank holiday on Monday 4 May, and the coast opened around both: Ocean Club and La Sala by the Sea on the Friday, Pangea's White Party on the Saturday. In 2027 the same holidays fall on Saturday 1 and Monday 3 May.
Why the First Weekend of May, Not Easter
Holy Week moves, from 29 March to 5 April in 2026 and from 21 to 28 March in 2027, while 1 May is fixed and is a public holiday in Spain. The British add their own long weekend on the first Monday of May. INE's hotel survey shows the step: Marbella's hotels recorded 172,461 overnight stays in March 2026, 262,017 in April and 291,576 in May. Pangea's rooftop and Nikki Beach were already trading in April, but the ticketed openings waited for May.

How Do You Get Into an Opening Party?
By paying in full before the day. Ocean Club's 2026 opening party guaranteed nothing until full payment had arrived, sold tables first paid, first served, and closed its doors at 22:00 with no re-entry. Entry was strictly 18 and over with photo ID. Pangea's White Party asked for white, and its packages had to check in before 23:00.
Ocean Club: Tickets, Wristbands and Doors
The 2026 terms set out the mechanics. Pay online, at reception or by bank transfer, which had to arrive a week before. Collect the wristband at Ocean Club's reception by 15:00 on the day. Doors opened at 18:00 and closed at 22:00, with no re-entry, for a party that ran to midnight. Tickets and tables were non-refundable unless bad weather postponed the event by more than 24 hours. The dress code changed between versions of the price list, from black and white to Roaring Twenties, so check the latest before you pack.
Pangea's White Party and the 23:00 Rule
Pangea opens its roof earlier in the season, with a reopening night on 24 April, and keeps its party for the long weekend: the Summer Opening White Party on Saturday 2 May. Its standing terms apply: smart, elegant dress, no sportswear, and guests with prepaid table packages must arrive before 23:00 or risk losing them. Tables go first come, first served after that. Who Gets Turned Away
On opening weekends the doors tighten. Ocean Club refuses fancy dress, body glitter, face gems and hen accessories, and its opening party was strictly over-18. Nikki Beach reserves the right to refuse entry with or without a reservation, refuses matching group outfits and stag or hen props, and may apply a 21-and-over rule at special events. In our experience, large all-male groups fare worst. A couple with tickets, dressed to the code and carrying ID, is the easiest entry of the weekend.
What to Book, and in Which Order
Flights and the hotel first, because both price up for the holiday weekend; then the opening party, then the beach bed for the day after, then dinner, then the car home. Opening tickets and tables are allocated on a first-paid basis, and La Sala and Nikki Beach release unclaimed beds at 12:30 and 13:30.
The Booking Order
- Six to eight weeks out: flights and hotel. Puerto Banús puts Ocean Club, La Sala and Pangea within walking distance.
- Four weeks out: opening-party tickets or a table, paid in full.
- Three weeks out: the beach bed for Saturday or Sunday.
- Two weeks out: dinner on the party night, early enough for the 22:00 door if you are going on.
- The week before: the car, and the companion if you want one.
Beds on Opening Weekend
La Sala by the Sea's special-price days in 2026 started with the spring bank holiday on 22 May, so the opening weekend used its normal list: €255 for a swim-up bed for two from Thursday to Sunday, with €100 of credit, and €135 on Monday to Wednesday. Nikki Beach's May prices put a deck bed for six at €500 on weekdays and €600 at weekends. Every bed is prepaid; claim it by 12:30 at La Sala or by 13:30 at Nikki Beach. The opening party is the big ticket: €250 a head at Ocean Club in 2026, with a bottle of Belle Époque to take home or ten drinks, and €3,000 to €10,000 for a table for ten. A beach bed for two runs about €255 on a weekend day, and a bottle on Pangea's roof from €330.

A Couple's Weekend, Worked Through
Two Ocean Club tickets on Friday, €500, with two bottles of Belle Époque collected in sealed bags on the way out. A swim-up bed at La Sala on Saturday, €255 with €100 of credit, and perhaps €150 more on lunch and drinks, plus the 10% service charge. Taxis around the port add little. That is about €1,000 before the hotel and dinners, which is why we suggest choosing one opening event rather than three. Unused bottles from tables are not stored, so drink or take what you paid for.
The Weather Question
Warm air, cold sea. AEMET's normals for Málaga airport give average highs of 21.4°C in April and 24.3°C in May, with 244 and 292 hours of sunshine and three to five rainy days a month. The sea averages 16.8°C in April and 18.4°C in May, so on opening weekend the pools do the work.
Air, Sun and Rain
The AEMET normals for 1981 to 2010 show May as the turning point: 24.3°C average highs, 14.2°C lows, 20 mm of rain over 3.1 days and 292 hours of sun, against 21.4°C, 44 mm and 4.5 rainy days in April. An evening at Ocean Club or on Pangea's roof cools quickly after the sun sets at about 21:07, so a layer is part of the outfit. Our weather guide has the full year.
The Sea Is Still Cold
Satellite-based averages from seatemperature.org put Marbella's sea at 16.8°C in April and 18.4°C in May. The warmest month is August, at about 23.4°C; September averages 21.8°C, and June 20.9°C. Claims of a 25°C September sea are wrong. On opening weekend a swim is brief and bracing, which is why the pool beds sell first. Lifeguards are only on weekend duty until the municipal season starts on 1 June, as our beach season guide explains.
Where to Stay for Opening Weekend
In or near Puerto Banús. Ocean Club, La Sala by the Sea and Pangea are all in the port or on its beach, so the opening party, the next day's bed and dinner need no car. Nikki Beach is the exception, 21.6 km east by road in Elviria. Hotels price up for the long weekend; INE put May 2026 weekend bed occupancy at 65.1%.
The Puerto Banús Base
A hotel or apartment within a few minutes' walk of the port turns the weekend into a walking one: the Friday party, the Saturday bed and the dinners in between. From Marbella's old town the port is 10.4 km by road, about €19 on the weekend tariff each way.
If the Weekend Includes Nikki Beach
Nikki Beach sits on the Don Carlos hotel's beach in Elviria, about 11.7 km from the old town and 21.6 km from Puerto Banús, roughly €21 and €35 on the weekend meter. It opens from 12:00 to 19:00, so a Nikki day and a Banús night work if the car is booked both ways. Its pool and pool beds are for over-18s, while families are welcome in the restaurant and on the beach, and pool access comes only with a pool or beach booking. Booking a Companion for Opening Weekend
Book her when you book the party: opening weekend is one of the first busy weekends of the year, and the companion you want may already be booked, so ask a week ahead if you can. An opening party and dinner suit an evening booking; the full weekend suits an overnight or two. The price does not rise for the holiday weekend, but availability does.
Which Format Fits
For the Friday party, a dinner first and the party until midnight fit a dinner-date booking extended, or an overnight, €3,000 to €4,000 depending on the companion and the length, if the night continues. For the long weekend, clients often choose our party companions, who enjoy a ticketed night and a day by the pool. Most of these bookings start in Puerto Banús, where the companion meets you at dinner and walks to the door with you, ticket and dress code sorted in advance.
Paying and Changing Plans
You pay the companion directly before the booking starts, in cash, by bank transfer (to her or to the agency) or in crypto, and extra time is paid on the spot. A booking made in advance, which opening weekend almost always is, takes a 25 per cent deposit by transfer or crypto, to her or to the agency, with the balance paid to her at the start; a same-day booking takes none. An overnight can be changed or cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before and an event booking up to five days before, as our cancellation guide sets out, which is more generous than the clubs' ticket terms.
