Who Runs Sunset Trips From Marbella in 2026?

Three operators list private two-hour trips with prices we checked in October 2026: NaluSur from Marbella's marina, Marbella JetSki from Playa de las Dunas in East Marbella, and Aquatime from the marina's office 22. Puerto Banús's own charter desk rents yachts by the two hours, priced on request.

Reading the Listings

NaluSur's private sail is the only monohull sailing yacht on the list: a Bavaria 36 with a skipper, sailing from the Puerto Deportivo, sunset outings on request and free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Marbella JetSki's fleet is motor boats plus a Bali 4.0 sailing catamaran, with the same 24-hour refund. Aquatime prices from the shortest hire rather than a sunset package. Shared or Private: What the Difference Buys

A shared trip is a seat on a large catamaran with a bar, music and many other passengers; Fly Blue's Málaga sunset run costs €30 a head. A private trip is the whole boat, from €349 for up to seven. For a couple it costs more, and it is the only version that feels like an evening rather than an excursion.

The Shared Catamaran in Málaga

None of the Marbella operators we checked listed a scheduled shared sunset departure for 2026. The nearest is Fly Blue, whose 90-minute ‘Puesta de Sol’ leaves Málaga's Muelle Uno at 19:00 and 19:30 for €30 an adult, with bar service and music on board; children under three travel free. Its fleet includes catamarans for 150 and 180 passengers, which tells you the atmosphere. The Private Boat

On a private boat you choose the route, the music and the swim stop, and the skipper is the only other person aboard. NaluSur's €349 for up to seven guests works out at about €50 a head for a group, or simply the price of the evening for two. What Time Should a Sunset Sail Leave?

About 90 minutes before sunset, so the boat is well offshore for the last hour of light and back as dusk ends, half an hour after the sun has gone. In Marbella that means leaving around 20:10 in mid-June and mid-July, 19:40 in mid-August, 19:00 in mid-September and 18:15 in mid-October.

Sunset and Departure Times for 2026

Times are local, calculated for Marbella with the standard NOAA solar method and rounded to the minute; ‘end of dusk’ is the end of civil twilight, when the sky is still light enough to come alongside comfortably.

The Late Sunsets and the Clock Change

The latest sunsets of 2026 fall at the end of June, at about 21:42, which puts a two-hour trip from 20:10 to 22:10. At the other end of the season, the clocks go back at 03:00 on Sunday 25 October: sunset is 19:32 on the Saturday and 18:31 on the Sunday. Operators' standard slots do not follow the sun, and NaluSur's scheduled small-group sail leaves at 16:00 on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Ask for the sunset time on your date and book backwards from it.

West to Puerto Banús or East to the Dunes?

From Marbella's marina, west along the Golden Mile to Puerto Banús is about 3.6 nautical miles, roughly half an hour each way at sailing pace. From Playa de las Dunas, the run is east toward Cabopino and the Artola dunes. Either way the boat stays outside the 200-metre bathing strip off the beaches.

West Along the Golden Mile

The classic loop: out of the Puerto Deportivo, west past the beach clubs and hotels of the Golden Mile, a turn off Puerto Banús as the lights come on, and back. On this south-facing coast the sun sets to the west, along the shore rather than straight out to sea, so the route west sails toward it and the return looks back at the mountains catching the last light. Spanish coastal rules keep boats outside 200 metres from the beaches, so the swim stop is in open water.

East Toward Cabopino

Starting from East Marbella, the coast toward Cabopino is lower and quieter, with the dunes of Artola and their watchtower behind the beach. It suits a couple who want the water to themselves rather than the view of the port. What's Included, and What to Bring

On the private trips above, the skipper, fuel and soft drinks are included, NaluSur adds snacks and a swim stop, and Marbella JetSki adds snacks and a sound system. Bring a windproof layer, swimwear if you plan to swim, and passport details for every guest. Ask before bringing your own champagne.

The Packing List

NaluSur's own list is sensible: swimwear, a T-shirt, shorts or long sleeves depending on the weather, and a windproof jacket, always. The breeze over the water after sunset cools you fast even in August. Champagne on a Two-Hour Trip

Operators include soft drinks; alcohol policies vary, so ask whether you may bring a bottle and whether they supply glasses and ice. Two hours is short: one good bottle, chilled before you board, does more than a hamper. In Puerto Banús, the port's rules allow drinking aboard private boats and in licensed premises but not on the quays, so the bottle stays sealed until you step aboard. Wind, Weather and Cancellations

Evening conditions are usually gentle, but a Levante or a strong westerly can make a small boat uncomfortable, and the skipper has the final word on safety. NaluSur and Marbella JetSki both refund in full with 24 hours' notice; ask each what happens when the weather, rather than you, cancels the trip.

When the Skipper Calls It Off

Spain's Navigation Act gives the skipper the last word whenever conditions put the boat or guests at risk, and a good one calls it early in the afternoon rather than at the pontoon. If the wind is up, ask whether a shorter loop inside the bay is possible before cancelling outright. A sailing yacht in a stiff breeze heels and throws spray; that is exhilarating for some guests and miserable for others, so say which you are.

If the Sail Is Cancelled

A boat cancelled by the skipper is never charged on our side either: the evening simply moves ashore, to a terrace with the same view. A Sunset Sail, Then Dinner: Booking a Companion

Two hours on the water and dinner afterwards is a four-hour evening, which is a dinner date, from €900 for three hours, so €1,200 for four, with the boat paid separately. If the night continues, extra hours are €300 each, or it becomes an overnight, €3,000 to €4,000. Send us the operator, the pontoon and the departure time.

The Shape of the Evening

Board at seven in mid-September, back at nine, and dinner on the quay by half past. Our dinner-date companions are used to moving from deck to restaurant, and a wrap for the boat and a dress for dinner is all it takes. In mid-October the same plan starts at a quarter past six and still leaves time for a Spanish dinner at nine.
